John Hutchison joined the Yellow Jackets as Head Coach of the women’s soccer program in April 2023, becoming the fourth head coach in program history.
Hutchisons' first season, in 2023, saw the squad go 3-12-2, marking the most goals scored in a half as well as in a match.
Prior to BHSU, Hutchison spent four years at the helm of the Presentation College (S.D.) Saints women’s soccer program where his teams improved each year at PC, going 0-12-2 in 2020 and 4-10-1 in 2021 before leading the 2022 squad to a winning 7-6-3 record, their second-winningest season in program history.
Before Presentation, Hutchison was a graduate assistant coach to the William Woods University (Mo.) men’s soccer program that saw its first American Midwest Conference (AMC) (NAIA) conference title, a top-25 national ranking, and NAIA National Tournament bid.
Prior to William Woods, Coach Hutchison was a Volunteer Assistant Coach in the 2016 season for the University of Arkansas women’s soccer program. From 2013 to 2014, Hutchison served as a graduate assistant for both the men’s and women’s soccer programs at Ottawa University (KS) (NAIA).
Hutchison was a two-year member of the Columbia College (Mo.) (NAIA) men’s soccer team, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management. Hutchison spent the first two years of his collegiate soccer career at Lincoln Land Community College. He also holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Ottawa University (Kan.).
Coach Hutchison holds a FAW UEFA “C” Certificate and USSF “D” License, as well as a Level 2 NSCAA Goalkeeping Certificate.
Hutchison currently resides in Spearfish with his wife, Lindsay and their dog, Dallas.
