Volleyball Defeats Minot State

Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University volleyball team defeated Minot State 3-0 to improve to 11-17 (6-5 DAC). The Yellow Jackets swept the Beavers 25-15, 25-17, and 25-21 Saturday at the Donald Young Center.

“It was an emotional game for us and our girls played hard,” said head coach Jennifer Weitzel. “Our younger girls followed the example set by our seniors and we came away with the win.”

The Yellow Jackets were led by senior Maggie O'Neill and sophomore Kylee Lamb who each had eight kills.  Lamb finished the contest with a hitting percentage of .438.  Black Hills State dominated Minot State with 13 total team blocks to Minot State's two.

Black Hills State will return to action Friday, October 29 in Jamestown, N.D. at 7 p.m. MT.
