Azusa, Calif. – The Black Hills State University
volleyball team dropped two matches on Friday at the Cougar Classic
in Azusa, Calif. falling to 0-3 on the season.
In the first match of the day, the Yellow Jackets lost to San
Diego Christian by a score of 3-1. Black Hills State won the
first set 25-21 and then fell in the next three sets 25-22, 25-23,
and 25-21. The Yellow Jackets were led in by Kylee Lamb and
Maggie O'Neill, each tallied 11 kills.
Black Hills State squared off against host school Azusa Pacific
in the second match. The Cougars defeated the Yellow Jackets
in three sets 25-11, 25-15, and 25-23. O'Neill led the
team with 10 kills, tied for the team lead with seven digs, and had
two block assists.
Black Hills State will return to the court on Saturday for two
more matches. The Yellow Jackets face The Master's at
10 a.m. PT and Biola at 12:30 p.m. PT.
