Women's Basketball Rolls Past Valley City State

Box Score

Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University women's basketball defeated Valley City State 77-70 Friday night at the Donald E. Young Center in Spearfish to move to 12-3 (2-0 DAC) on the season.

"We had a lot of girls step up tonight," said head coach Mark Nore. "We did a better job of rebounding in the second half and made some good plays down the stretch."

The Yellow Jackets were led by senior guard Katelynn Lamb and junior guard Keely Krolikowski, each with 16 points.  Black Hills State was on fire from the field to start the DAC conference home opener.  With four players scoring in double figures, Nore's team was able to pull away from the Vikings down the stretch to tally the seven point victory.

Black Hills State will return to action Saturday, January 8 as they take on Jamestown.  Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. MT in Spearfish.
