Valley City, N.D. – The No. 5 Black Hills State University women's basketball team was defeated by Valley City State on Saturday in Valley City, N.D. by a score of 56-54.

Black Hills State took a two-point lead, 54-52, late in the game after a three-point basket from Kristi Ryan.  Valley City State scored the final four points of the game including the game-winning basket with 1.8 seconds to go.  Ryan was able to get off a last second shot that did not connect.

The Yellow Jackets had three players score in double figures.  Keely Krolikowski and Ryan each had 14 points.  Katelynn Lamb added 13 points for the Yellow Jackets.

Black Hills State will return home to face Dakota State on Friday, February 11.  Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. MT.
