Sioux Falls, S.D. – The Black Hills State University volleyball team split on the first day of the Sioux Falls Tournament.
The Yellow Jackets opened the day with a match against Waldorf. Black Hills State would fall in the first set 24-26. The Yellow Jackets then rattled-off wins in three-straight set 25-17, 25-22, and 25-15 to win the match.
The second match of the day saw Black Hills State square-off with Fort Hays State. The Yellow Jackets dropped the first two sets 17-25 and 17-25. Black Hills State bounced back taking the third set 25-19 before finally falling 18-25 in the fourth set.
Black Hills State is 1-1 on the season. The Yellow Jackets will take on Bemidji State and S.D. School of Mines on September 3 in the final day of the Sioux Falls Tournament.
