Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State volleyball team won its fourth-straight home game as the Yellow Jackets out powered Jamestown College in straight-sets (25-17, 25-21, 27-25) on Friday night.
BHSU came out firing on all cylinders as the Yellow Jackets won the first set and never looked back. Jamestown battled in the third set, but Kylee Lamb helped propel BHSU past the Jimmies, 27-25.
"We are very proud of the team effort our ladies displayed tonight," said head coach Sally Nichols. "Jamestown is a great rivalry and our gals approached this match with intensity and heart."
Amy O'Neill and Meghan Sipe led the Yellow Jackets with 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Sipe also recorded a team-high nine digs. Darbi Yost had an outstanding game with a game-high 37 assists. Lamb led the BHSU defense with two solo and four assisted blocks.
"Darbi played a great match distributing the ball well and engaging all our hitters throughout the match," said Nichols.
Jamestown was led by Katie Zent and Sarah Becker who each had 10 kills. Katie Lee had a game-high 16 digs.
The Yellow Jackets will try to carry their momentum into tomorrow's match as they face off against University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Donald E. Young Center.
