Spearfish, S.D. – The Yellow Jackets lost in straight-sets (25-22, 16-25, 16-25) on Friday evening at UC-Colorado Springs.
The Yellow Jackets were led by Amy O'Neill who recorded a team-high 13 kills. Caitlin Templeton added nine kills and Meghan Sipe tallied six. Kelsey Olson and Sipe each had eight digs. Jackie Fagnant and Darbi Yost had 14 and 15 assists, respectively.
"Caitlin Templeton owned the first set offensively with seven kills on 10 attempts. We showed improvement late in the set as we committed only one error after the score was 20-20," said head coach Sally Nichols. "However we finished soft with aggression. Colorado Springs made some adjustments on defense to shut down our attack in set two. We didn't respond defensively in set three to their variety of shots."
The Yellow Jackets next contest is Friday against Colorado Mines at 7:00 p.m. in the Donald E. Young Center.
