PUEBLO, Colo. – The Black Hills State University Yellow Jackets men's basketball team picked up their eighth victory of the season on Saturday night, thanks to a 55-point second half that helped them to an 84-76 win over CSU-Pueblo. 

After a tough loss where BHSU scored 52 points at UCCS on Friday night as a team, guards Tommy Earl and Riley Ryan stepped up to score 49 points alone, as three Yellow Jackets scored in double-figures on the night.  

Ryan scored 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting to go with nine rebounds (2 offense, 7 defense) and Earl went for 24 points after going 6-of-11 from the field (11-13 FT) and had six rebounds.  Junior guard, Joey Mitchell, scored 13 points and grabbed four rebounds. 

The Jackets used a much-improved shooting effort to close out the game down the stretch after going 27-of-55 (49.1%).  BHSU also got a boost from the deep ball as they hit six 3-points shots on the night. 

BHSU also sought found a significant advantage on the glass after out rebounding the ThunderWolves 42 to 29.  The Jackets committed just 10 turnovers on the night. 

CSUP was led by five players that scored in double-figures with Nathan Tigner and Julian Caldwell leading the way with 14 points apiece as Devante Malcolm and Steven Radakovic had 11 each.  Matt Rosebaum finished with 10 points. 

As a team, CSUP shot 43.5-percent and went 13-of-33 on three-pointers (39.4%). 

Next up for the Yellow Jackets (8-9, 6-7 RMAC) will be another road trip to play Regis University on Friday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m.
