DENVER, Colo. – The Black Hills State University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to Regis University Friday night in Denver, Colorado.
The Rangers prevailed in the three sets 25-22, 25-14 and 25-19 to improve to 17-8 and 12-5 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Yellow Jackets fall to 10-17, 12-5. Even with the loss, Black Hills State still remains alive in the hunt for its first ever bid into the RMAC Tournament.
The Yellow Jackets had a tough go offensively, with Meghan Sipe and Shelby Mayer leading the way offensively with six kills apiece. Regis was led by Caitie Breaux with 18 kills and a .368 hitting percentage.
Brynn Eckhardt assisted on 22 points for BHSU as Lacy Stevens had 21 digs. Both were match highs.
The Yellow Jackets will look for a victory against the University of Colorado Colorado Springs tomorrow evening with a 5 p.m. match.
