SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University volleyball team sweeps the Chadron State Eagles 3-0 and earned its first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference win on Saturday night. Brynn Eckhardt recorded her fourth triple-double on the season with 13 kills, 10 assists and 10 digs.
The Yellow Jackets took all three sets 30-28, 25-13 and 25-20.
In set one, Black Hills State trailed by six points at 21-15 to come back and tie it at 24-all and force a win-by-two situation. The two teams traded off points from there until 28-all. The Yellow Jackets took the last two points with a kill by Tara Hall and an attack error by the Eagles to win the set 30-28 and take the lead in the match 1-0.
BHSU kept the momentum taking a quick 6-1 lead in the second set. At 17-12, the Yellow Jackets scored eight straight points to increase the lead by 12 points, 24-12. Cheyenne Paluserved for seven of those points with Eckhardt and Torpey getting kills. Black Hills State closed the set out at 25-13.
In the third and final set, the Yellow Jackets took an early lead 6-1 but the Eagles came back within two at 20-18 to slow down BHSU. It was not enough for the Eagles though as the Yellow Jackets finished the set out 25-20 and win the match 3-0.
Joining Eckhardt on offense, Laurel Lech registered 10 assists of her own.  Sierra Stugelmeyer, Ellise Lech andCheyenne Palu all recorded five kills each. Lech had a .333 hitting percentage while Stugelmeyer had a .308 hitting percentage.
Lacy Stevens recorded 15 digs while Sydney Ederhoff owns 11 digs. Palu registered 10 blocks while Eckhardt andFehrin Ward had five blocks each.Â
Black Hills State improves to 3-13 on the season and 1-7 in conference play while Chadron State falls to 4-13 on the season and 3-5 in RMAC action.
The Yellow Jackets take on South Dakota School of Mines on Tuesday October 11 with first serve at 7 p.m.
