OGDEN, Utah – The Black Hills State University men's basketball team opened its season with an exhibition game Saturday evening at Weber State. The NCAA Division I Big Sky Conference favorite Wildcats outran the Yellow Jackets 88-47.

Zach McLemore led the way with 12 points in 22 minutes of action. McLemore hit 2-of-3 shots from long range. He was the only Yellow Jacket in double-digit scoring. Senior
Max Mueller grabbed 11 of the Yellow Jackets 31 rebounds. Mueller nearly had a double-double as he scored eight points.

Both McLemore's points and Mueller's rebounds were game highs against the Weber State team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament a season ago with 31 wins.

The Wildcats placed four in double-digit scoring along with Preseason Big Sky All-Conference Performer Jeremy Senglin.

"We've just got to continue to work," head coach
Jeff Trumbauer said. "I think it was great for us to get on the floor and get the first game jitters out.

"We saw what some guys can do, and what some need to work on. Offensively we've got to work on shot selection. Defensively we need to outlast the opponents, and we didn't do that tonight.

The Yellow Jackets open their regular season on Friday at Texas A&M – Kingsville. Tipoff from Kingsville is slated for 6 p.m. The following the, the Green and Gold face Texas A&M International in Laredo, Texas, with a 5 p.m. start.
