Rich, a 6'1 forward, hails from Worland, Wyoming, where she attended Worland High School and helped the team to a State Championship in 2016. She was selected for the All-State team in both basketball and volleyball.
"Lyndzi is very talented player that can play inside or out," said head coach
Mark Nore. "She is a perfect fit for what we do and definitely fills a need for us with her size and scoring ability inside."
"I am excited about the opportunity to work with her and see how good she can be. We are excited to welcome Lyndzi to our family and thankful for her trust in us and our program. She has a bright future ahead of her."
Risley, a 5'10 guard, joins the squad from Canadian, Texas where she attended Canadian High School and played for two club teams. Her junior year season, she averaged 14.6 points per game with 6.8 rebounds. Risley was named to the All-District team twice her first two years followed by the All-Region and All-State teams her junior season.
"Haevyn is a hardnosed, no stop, give it all you got kind of player," Nore said. "She can play any position on the floor defensively."
"She is a servant, very humble kid that has a ferocious mentality. We are delighted that Haevyn took a leap of faith and made her decision and commitment to become a Yellow Jacket. We are very excited about what she brings to the table as a person and player. We want to welcome her to the family."
Vanderwerff, a 5'9" forward, joins Black Hills State from Rapid City, South Dakota, where she played for Stevens High School and was the second leading scorer on the team. She has a career 561 points but scored 38 points in one game. She was named to the All-Tournament team her junior year.
"Hanna is a tremendous kid with great work ethic," stated Nore. "I believe her biggest strength is her ability to catch and finish with contact. I also believe she could become a good defensive player for us because of her commitment to practicing hard all the time."
"I have known Hanna a long time. We are very excited about her commitment to become a Yellow Jacket and very excited about her future."
Wientjes, a 5'9" shooting guard, is a native of Onida, South Dakota and joins her sister Remi on the squad. Wientjes averaged 19 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3 assists per game her junior season. She scored a career high 1,400 points. She led the team to a State Championship and was captain her junior and senior season. She has earned All-State and All-Tournament teams twice while receiving All-Conference and All-Area team honors three times.
"Racquel is a very athletic, long perimeter player that can flat out put the ball in the hole," added Nore. "We believe she has the ability to be a great player because of her toughness and winning spirit."
"It's going to be really cool to coach siblings for the first time, her sister has done a tremendous job for us on and off the floor, and now we are very excited to welcome another Wientjes to our family."
The four recruits will begin their academic careers at Black Hills State in the fall of 2017-18.
