GOLDEN, Colo. – The Black Hills State University volleyball team lets another one slip away as they fell 3-0 to Colorado School of Mines Orediggers Friday night.
The sets went as follows: 25-11, 25-17, 25-19.
In the third set, the Yellow Jackets started finding their momentum keeping the match close. The two teams traded off points until 11-all when the momentum slipped away from BHSU. The Orediggers took a four-point lead making it tough for Black Hills State to catch them, winning the third and final set 25-19.
Danielle Torpey led the way on offense recording seven kills for the Yellow Jackets. Brynn Eckhardt was right behind Torpey with five kills. Eckhardt registered 10 assists on the night. Laurel Lech recorded eight assists right behind Eckhardt.
Brynn Eckhardt acted as a double threat tonight assisting Lacy Stevens and recording 11 digs. Stevens registered 10 digs on the night. Ellise Lech and Cheyenne Palu each recorded three blocks for the Yellow Jackets.
Black Hills State falls to 2-10 on the season and 0-5 in conference action while Colorado School of Mines increases to 11-2 on the season and 5-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.Â
The Yellow Jackets move on to play Colorado Christian in Lakewood, Colorado, Saturday evening with first serve at 5 p.m.
