Box Score ABERDEEN, S.D. – Black Hills State University closed out its final road game Sunday afternoon against Northern State University losing 8-1.
The Yellow Jackets came out strong in the first seven minutes taking an early lead 1-0. Jessica Ryan, scoring her first goal for the Yellow Jackets, pocketed it in the deep right corner. The Wolves came back and responded in the 15th minute with a goal by Darian Leschewski assisted by Anna Bondy to tie it up 1-1.

The Yellow Jackets tallied seven total shots, five on target. Lauren Sparrow tallied two of the total shots with two on frame, Katie Nielson tallied two as well with one on target and goal scorer Jessica Ryan had one on goal with one on target landing in the goal.
"This weekend was a hard learning experience for the team, we need to progress from this weekend and improve even more than we are," said head coach Robert Blake.
"For all the good we did this weekend, we can't rest on our morals and think that is good enough! This will help define what each individual is all about and how they want to progress, which in turn will help us along our journey and grow as a team!"
Black Hills State falls to 0-3-0 on season and Northern State goes to 1-0-0.
Black Hills State opens conference play on September 16 at Ronnie Theisz field against the University of Colorado Colorado Springs at 1 p.m.
