Soccer heads to Denver for pair of RMAC matches

SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University women's soccer team heads to Denver for a pair of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matches this weekend. The Yellow Jackets take on Regis on Friday, October 13, at 1 p.m., before traveling to MSU Denver on Sunday, October 15, with kickoff scheduled for noon.

Regis University (9-1-2, 7-0-1 RMAC) most recently defeated CSU-Pueblo (2-0) and New Mexico Highlands (6-0). The Rangers are currently in first place in the RMAC, and ranked No. 17 by the United Soccer Coaches. The only match Regis hasn't won in league play was a 1-1 tie with nationally ranked Colorado Mines. The Rangers have outscored their opponents, 25-4, this season. Sofia Garcia leads the squad with five goals and an assist, while Tori Rinsem and Maggie Saras have each scored three goals. Garcia is tied for third in the conference for points (11) and is third for goals. Rikki Fix leads Regis with three assists. Goalkeeper Julia Coombs (9-1-2) has a 0.33 goals against average, which is best in the conference, allowing four goals in 1093 minutes, and making 20 saves. She has recorded eight shutouts, which is top in the RMAC.

MSU Denver (6-6, 5-3 RMAC) most recently defeated CSU-Pueblo (2-1), after falling, 3-2, to New Mexico Highlands. The team currently sits in fourth place in the RMAC. The Roadrunners are scoring 1.0 goals per game, led by Reigna Banks, with four goals. Elise Boisnard has three goals, while Banks and Boisnard each have three assists to lead the squad. Goalkeeper Erica Torres (5-3) has allowed eight goals, with a 0.93 GAA. She has made 39 saves and has a .830 save percentage.

Black Hills State University (0-11, 0-6 RMAC) most recently fell to Adams State (5-0) and Fort Lewis (4-1). Katie Nielson leads the team with two goals, while Jayden Judy has also scored. Therese Wilhelmi and Caitlin Kelly have each tallied an assist for the Yellow Jackets. Raven Johnson (0-7) has played the majority of time in goal, allowing 33 goals and making 55 saves. She has a 4.61 goals against average and a 0.625 save percentage.
