DENVER, Colo. – The Black Hills State University women's soccer team fell on Sunday afternoon to Metropolitan State University Denver by a score of 2-0.
BHSU falls to 0-13 on the season and 0-8 in conference action, while MSU Denver improves to 7-6 overall, and 6-3 in conference.
Over halfway through the first half, Regina Banks received a cross from Samantha Bailey, to dump it into the net to give MSU Denver the 1-0 lead over the Yellow Jackets.
Following the intermission, the Yellow Jackets were unable to find their momentum, as the Roadrunners took a 2-0 lead in the 71st minute. Delainee Evans banked a shot of the post and into the net from 18 yards out to seal the MSU Denver victory.
Black Hills State was outshot 29-2.
Mikayla Hernandez and
Rose Miller tallied the only shots for the Yellow Jackets, while Miller's shot landed on goal.
Therese Wilhelmi registered seven saves on the day, allowing just two goals.
The Green and Gold return home on Friday, October 20 and Sunday, October 22 to host Colorado School of Mines and Colorado Christian. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
