Women's soccer returns home for pair of RMAC games this weekend

SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University women's soccer team is set to host a pair of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games this weekend. The Yellow Jackets welcome Fort Lewis on Friday, October 6, at 3 p.m., before meeting Adams State on Sunday, October 8, at 1 p.m. Friday's game is a Pink Out Game for Breast Cancer Awareness, sponsored by Jacket Pack.

Fort Lewis (2-6-1, 2-4 RMAC) most recently defeated Western State, 2-1, after falling, 2-1, to the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. The team is scoring 0.67 goals per game, while allowing 1.22. Six different players have scored a goal for the Skyhawks: Renee Terrell, Kendyl Neus, Jessica Singleton, Alicia Sanchez, Meredith Curran, and Valerie Maestas. Terrell has recorded two assists, while four other players have tallied one assist. Ali Miller has played all but 45 minutes in goal for FLC. She has made 56 saves, while allowing 10 goals, with a 1.13 goals against average. She has recorded one shutout this season.

Adams State (1-6-2, 0-5-1 RMAC) most recently fell to Western State (2-1) and UCCS (5-0). The Grizzlies allow 2.0 goals per game, while scoring 0.56 themselves. Braguelle Calley has scored two goals to lead the team, while Valentina Loza, Breana Flores, and Lourdes Padilla have each tallied one goal. Kendall Weld leads the Grizzlies with two assists, while Loza and Shayla Reeves have each assisted on one goal. Teagan Moore is 1-5-1 in goal for ASU, making 38 saves. She has a 1.55 GAA, and has allowed 13 goals in 752 minutes.

Black Hills State University (0-9, 0-4 RMAC) most recently lost to Colorado State-Pueblo, 8-0, after falling, 2-0, to New Mexico Highlands. Katie Nielson and Jayden Judy have each scored for the Yellow Jackets, while Caitlin Kelly has tallied an assist. Rose Miller leads the squad with five shots on goal. Raven Johnson (0-5) has a 4.66 goals against average, making 44 saves and allowing 24 goals in 463 minutes. Therese Wilhelmi (0-2) and Zoe Baldwin (0-2) have each spent time in goal as well. Wilhelmi has a 6.50 GAA in 180 minutes, making 15 saves, while Baldwin has a 4.88 goals against average in 165 minutes, with 10 saves.

This weekend's games mark the first RMAC home games of the 2017 season for BHSU. They are also the first games in Spearfish for the team since the first game of the season (Aug. 31).
