SPEARFISH, S.D. –
Katie Nielson's goal was not enough, as the Black Hills State University women's soccer team fell, 4-1, on Friday afternoon to Fort Lewis College.
The Yellow Jackets fall to 0-10-0 on the season, and 0-5 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play, while the Skyhawks improve to 3-6-1 overall, and 3-4 in conference action.
In the first half, Fort Lewis jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead, with Meredith Curran scoring her second goal of the season in the seventh minute.
In the 18
th minute, Emma Patron hit a shot in the center of the net, after dribbling across the box to get past the defenders to go up 2-0. After a Yellow Jacket foul, Alicia Sanchez blasted a free kick into the back right corner of the net to increase the Skyhawk lead to 3-0 in the 31
st minute.

Katie Nielson about four yards out, who placed a shot in the back left corner of the net to close in on the Skyhawk lead, 3-1.
Halfway through the second half, Patron scored her second goal of the day from 25 yards out to the deep left corner to give the Skyhawks a 4-1 lead and the win.
The Yellow Jackets tallied nine shots, with five landing on goal. Nielson led the way with three shots, with one landing on target and one goal.
Jayden Judy registered two shots with both landing on goal.

Rose Miller, and
Alexandria Lisenbe all recorded a shot, with Miller and Shassetz landing their shots on target.
Therese Wilhelmi notched an assist.
Raven Johnson played all 90 minutes in net, tallying five saves.
Black Hills State returns to action on Sunday, October 8, hosting Adams State with kick off set for 1 p.m.
