Box Score TAOS, N.M. - The Black Hills State University women's soccer team fell, 2-0, to New Mexico Highlands University on Friday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets fall to 0-8 on the season and 0-3 in conference action while N.M. Highlands improves to 1-4-2 overall and 1-1-1 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.
The Cowgirls took an early 1-0 lead in the first nine minutes of the half. Breanna Fatten received a pass from Leila Monzon to lay it in the net to give NMHU the lead.
The Yellow Jackets managed to hold the Cowgirls off until the final two minutes of the match when NMHU increased the lead with an insurance goal to end the game 2-0. Alondra Gildo-Ceballos scored the final goal for the Cowgirls to give them their first victory of the season.
The Yellow Jackets tallied 10 shots with five landing on goal.

Jamy Shassetz each had two shot with Shassetz landing two on net and Judy with one. Six others contributed to the offense with one shot but only
Katie Nielson and
Morgan Wood landed their shots on goal.
Raven Johnson registered all 90 minutes in net for the Green and Gold. Johnson tallied a season and career-high 13 saves against just two goals allowed.Â
The Green and Gold travel to Colorado State University-Pueblo to close out the weekend on Sunday, September 24. Kickoff is set for noon.
