DENVER, Colo. – The Black Hills State University women's soccer team fell to Regis, 6-0, on Monday afternoon.
The Rangers (7-4-2, 6-3 RMAC) were the aggressors from the beginning of the match, scoring in the ninth minute. Within the next 10 minutes, Regis was up, 3-0. In the 31st minute, the home team went up 4-0 over the Yellow Jackets (0-13-1, 0-8-1 RMAC), and took that lead into halftime.
In the first 15 minutes of the second half, the Rangers added two insurance goals. In the final 25 minutes, BHSU's defense kept RU off the board, holding the Rangers to just 4 shots.
The Rangers outshot the Yellow Jackets, 34-3. Morgan Smith, Ella Goodman, and Rose Miller each recorded a shot. Teagen Hartley (0-4-1) allowed six goals while making nine saves in 90 minutes. Â
Tori Rinsem scored twice for the Rangers, while Emily Ramos and Natasha Wehner each tallied a goal. Karlyn Johnson made one save in a 90 minutes shutout.
The Green and Gold will wrap up their final road trip of the season next weekend. The Yellow Jackets visit No. 4 ranked Colorado School of Mines on Oct. 19, before playing at Colorado Christian on October 21.
