GOLDEN, Colo. – The Black Hills State University women's soccer team fell to No. 5 nationally-ranked Colorado School of Mines, 7-0, on Friday evening.
The Orediggers (14-1-1, 11-0 RMAC) got on the board quickly, scoring in the third minute. For the next 20 minutes, the Yellow Jackets (0-14-1, 0-9-1 RMAC) played the top team in the conference tough, spending time in the attacking third. However, in the 25th minute, Mines doubled their lead, and added two more goals in the first half, including a penalty after a foul in the box, to take a 4-0 lead into halftime.
 CSM added insurance goals in the 54th, 65th, and 88th minutes, securing a 7-0 win.
The Orediggers outshot the Yellow Jackets, 44-1. Rose Miller recorded a shot for BHSU. Zoe Baldwin (0-8) played the first 45 minutes in net, allowing four goals while making four saves. Teagen Hartley played the second half, allowing three goals in 45 minutes, while making nine saves. Â Â
Nicole LaTourette had a hattrick for the Orediggers, while Taylor McRae, Eliot Edwards, Kaylee Kennedy, and Jennifer Kendall all tallied a goal.
The Green and Gold will wrap up their final road trip of the season on Sunday. The Yellow Jackets take on Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colorado, beginning at 1 p.m. on October 21.
