Box Score SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University volleyball team fell, 3-0, on senior night to MSU Denver, on Friday night. The Roadrunners defeated the Green and Gold by scores of 25-18, 25-11, and 25-19.

In the first set, MSU Denver attacked early to get an 8-2 lead over the Yellow Jackets. An attack error and kill from
Sierra Stugelmeyer cut down the Roadrunners lead. MSU Denver responded, going on a 6-0 run to lead, 18-4. Momentum started to shift, as back-to-back kills from
Jadie DeLange and
Ellise Lech started an 8-1 run for the Green and Gold. Another successful run for the Yellow Jackets put the Roadrunners ahead by five. MSU Denver eventually went on to take the set, 25-18, to take a lead in the match.

The second set was a back-and-forth affair as the score was knotted up, 5-5, until the Roadrunners took the lead. A couple service errors by MSU Denver helped bring the score within four points. The Roadrunners answered with a 7-0 run, advancing their lead. Kills from both Stugelmeyer and
Carisa Becerra bridged the gap of MSU Denver's lead. Unable to string a successful run, the Yellow Jackets would ultimately fall in the second set for the Roadrunners to lead, 2-0, in the match.

MSU Denver jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the third set, until a kill by
Carisa Becerra broke the Roadrunners run. The Yellow Jackets went on a 6-0 run as MSU Denver held a 15-10 lead., Back-and-forth action kept the Green and Gold within five points, but they would come up short as the Roadrunners took the set, and the match, 3-0.

Jadie DeLange led the Green and Gold with seven kills each in the match.Â
Laurel Lech recorded a double-double with 15 assists and 11 digs.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Oct. 27, to take on the Chadron State Eagles. Game time is slated at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Â
