Fraser Malcolm added 16, and
Stefan Desnica chipped in 12 points.
BHSU was in control for most of the first half, leading by as many as seven points. However, each time the Yellow Jackets would try to extend their lead, the Mountain Lions (11-12, 8-8 RMAC) would reel them back in. The Green and Gold ultimately led by four at the half, 35-31.
For the first nine minutes of the second half, the Yellow Jackets attempted to maintain a cushion, but with the visitors up one point, 46-45, with 11:19 remaining, Dalton Walker hit a three-pointer to give UCCS a lead. Although BHSU was able to tie the game three times, Walker hit another trey with 6:50 to break a tie and establish a lead the Mountain Lions would not relinquish the rest of the game. As injuries and a long road trip caught up with the Yellow Jackets, UCCS extended their cushion out to the final margin of 18, 82-64. Â
BHSU shot 39.0 percent from the field (23-for-59), while UCCS was 54.2 percent from the floor (26-for-48).
