Box Score DENVER, COLO. – The Yellow Jackets fell, 3-0, to Metropolitan State University – Denver, Saturday night. The Roadrunners won by scores of 25-19, 25-8, and 25-19.

Laurel Lech kept the score within five points. The Roadrunners used a 3-1 run to take the initial set, 25-19.
MSU-Denver jumped out early in the second set to lead, 8-3. The Green and Gold were unable to string together a successful run as the Roadrunners took the set, 25-8, leading the match, 2-0.
With back-and-forth action to kick of the third set, neither team set a substantial lead until the Roadrunners went on a 5-0 run to push ahead, 9-4. Kills from both
Sierra Stugelmeyer and Hoopman cut the gap of MSU-Denver's lead. The Yellow Jackets then went on a 3-0 run, but would eventually fall short, as the Roadrunners took the set, and the match, 3-0.
Hoopman led the Yellow Jackets with nine kills and two digs in the match.
Laurel Lech held 28 assists, along with six digs.
The Green and Gold will be back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 2, to face conference rival South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. in Rapid City, S.D.
