SOC: Yellow Jackets head on the road to face Thunderwolves, Cowgirls

SPEARFISH, S.D. - The Yellow Jacket soccer team takes to the road this weekend for a pair of road games. Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. the Yellow Jackets will go head-to-head in Pueblo, Colorado, against the Thunderwolves. Then on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. the Jackets and Cowgirls will square off in Las Vegas, N.M.
 
Scouting the Thunderwolves (3-5-1, 2-2-1 RMAC)
CSU-Pueblo is coming off a 5-goal win against New Mexico Highlands. Madison Jepperson led the Thunderwolf offense with two goals herself in the game. For the Thunderwolf offense as a whole, the team has made 51 of 99 shot on goals this season giving them a 0.515 shot on goal percentage.
 
Jepperson leads the squad with four goals and two assists, while two other Thunderwolves have scored twice. Goalkeeper Rylie Martin has made 43 saves in 813 minutes, allowing 13 goals. She has a .768 save percentage and 1.48 goals against average.
 
Scouting the Cowgirls (0-7, 0-5 RMAC)
The New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls are still searching for their first win of the season. They have scored goals in two of the seven games they have played this year. Janis Martinez has two goal, while Aly Loidolt has also tallied a goal. In goal for the Cowgirls, Katherine Scott is 0-4-1. She has made 31 saves while allowing 21 goals in 423 minutes.
 
Scouting the Yellow Jackets (2-7-1, 2-3-1 RMAC)
The Black Hills State University Yellow Jackets are coming off a home win last weekend against Western Colorado University, 4-2. BHSU has a 0.363 shot on goal percentage so far this season. They are led by senior Katie Nielson who has three goals and an assist, while Mikayla Hernandez has two goals and an assist to help carry the load.
 
Dz-Rae Jara (2-4-1) has a .806 save percentage, making 54 saves in 730 minutes. She has allowed 13 goals for a 1.6 goals against average.

Following the weekend travels, the Yellow Jackets will return home to play to Regis University on October 20 at 1 p.m.
