Spearfish, SD – The Black Hills State University men's and women's basketball teams are set to take on their local Hardrocker foes. In what is promising to be an exciting and bitter game to start RMAC play, the Yellow Jackets are hosting the SD School of Mines Hardrockers in doubleheader action. Action will take place at the Donald Young Center on Tuesday, November 26
th.The women tip off at 5:30pm while the men take the court at 7:30pm.

The women's team opened up the season playing aggressively and shooting hot, winning their first three contests. Two back to back losses against NSIC opponents now have the Green and Gold looking for a big win to regain their momentum.

In the fledging season, the Yellow Jackets are averaging 66 points a game. They are led by
Racquel Wientjes who is scoring an average of 16 points per game. She is currently fourth in the league for scoring and is shooting 52 percent from behind the arch.
Morgan Ham is another other big shooter, averaging 12 points per game with a 43 percent accuracy.
The Hardrockers are averaging 67 points per game shooting fast and frequently. They currently have a shooting success rate of 41 percent making 79 of 193 attempts. Ryan Weiss will need to be contained as she is leading SDSMT with 16 points per game.

This marks the 102
nd game between the Yellow Jackets and the Hardrockers. The Green and Gold trail in the series 52-49 and last lost to SDSMT 62-71 near the end of the 2018-19 season. Currently, the Black Hills defense is second in the RMAC and they will be looking to that strong defense to turn the tide against the Hardorkcers.
Meanwhile, the men's team needs to win Tuesday night. They have opened the season 1-3 with their last win two weeks ago. The season is young but Black Hills is averaging 79.3 points per game.
Trey Whitley is leading the team with over 17 points a game. He is currently seventh in the league in scoring. Also in double digits are
Joel Scott with 16.8 points,
Tyler Oliver with 15 points, and
Stefan Desnica at 14.3 points per game.
In the last decade, the Yellow Jackets trail in the series 9-11. However, the last four match ups have seen the Green and Gold victorious, including a thrilling buzzer beater to open the 2018-19 season.
Both teams will enjoy a Thanksgiving break before the men take the court December 2
nd in Spearfish against Dakota State University while the women's team travels down to Westminster December 6
th.
