Spearfish, SD – The Black Hills State University men's basketball team are also on a long road trip this weekend as they also head to Utah for a pair of conference match-ups. On Friday, the Yellow Jackets take on Westminster College at 7:30 pm in Salt Lake City. Then, on Saturday, they head to St. George to face Dixie State, also at 7:30pm.

The Yellow Jackets are 3-3 on the season and 1-0 in the RMAC. They currently have the best shooting average from the field in the RMAC making 54 percent of their shots. The team is making 40 percent of their shots from beyond the arc and make 78 percent of their shots at the free throw line. The team is also averaging 27 rebounds a game.

Tyler Oliver is posting great numbers across the board. He has the second most assists in the league currently averaging six a game. Oliver is also third in the RMAC with his average of nine rebounds a game and has the ninth best shooting average from the field.

Trey Whitley are tied at 11
th in the RMAC each averaging 16.8 points a game. Scott sits at third in the league with his 62 percent connection rate from the field. Whitley is steady at the charity strip, boasting an 88 percent made rate, which is fifth best in the RMAC.

The Griffins (5-2, 0-1 RMAC) are coming off their second loss of the season, dropping their RMAC opener 63-74 to Dixie State. The Griffins have four shooters averaging double digits. Brandon Warr is putting up 18.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Jai Jai Ely is adding 13.7 points per game. Since 2016, the Yellow Jackets lead the series over Westminster 3-2. At home a year ago, the Yellow Jackets easily won 88-55.

The Trailblazers (6-0, 1-0 RMAC) are on a 6-0 run to start the season. Hunter Schofield is averaging 16.7 points a game and putting up 6.8 rebounds a game. Frank Staine will also need to be guarded as he is putting up an average of 14.7 points a game and 3.5 rebounds. Â A year ago, the Green and Gold downed the Trailblazers 91-70 at home. This will be the last RMAC matchup for Dixie State and the Yellow Jackets as Dixie is moving up to Division One.
