Chadron, NE - The Black Hills State University track and field teams won 10 total events at the Chadron State open.
Abbie Fredrick ran 5:14.06 in the mile, .09 seconds under the meet record set back in 2012 while
Breanne Fuller ran 7.95 seconds in the 60 meter dash breaking a 6 year old meet record by .06. The women's squad racked up a total of seven wins while the men's team picked up three.

"We definitely know what we need to work on after this meet today and that is always a good thing," said head coach
Seth Mischke. "We need to put in some consistent training again after break and we should be in a good place as we get closer to the conference championships."

Kyla Sawvell won both the Shot Put and Weight Throw. While neither tosses were season bests, she did out throw her competition in the shot put by over four feet. On the track, fuller won the 200m dash in 26.36 and took second in the 60m dash after breaking the meet record in prelims.
Zoe Langseth and
Mikayla Tracy went one-two in the 400m dash while Fredrick won the mile with her meet setting time and finished second in the 800m.
Xiomara Robinson narrowly won the 3000m run while
Brittney Marosok took the win in the 60m hurdles at the line.

On the men's side,
Jordan Theisen pushed his opponents to the line to take the win in the mile, he also picked up second place in the 800m.
Seth Kovar and
Tristan Hepp finished neck and neck in 60m hurdles to go one-two respectively.
Hoyt Nicholas won the weight throw with a PR of 55 feet and 5.50 inches. That toss remains seventh best in school history.
Sully Mack Also cracked the top ten list with his toss of 48 feet 8 inches in the weight throw.
