Track and Field Adds First Addition to 2020-21 Signing Class

Black Hills State University Track and Field has added Sprinter/Jumper and Medicine Bow, Wyoming native Taylar Scott to their roster for the 2021-22 season.

Taylar is a sprinter and jumper who competed at H.E.M. High School in Medicine Bow, Wyo. As a sophomore Scott claimed her high school's record in the 100M dash with a time of 12.95. Scott also ran a 26.87 200M and a 62.00 400M dash. Taylar also competed in the triple jump jumping 34'1" her sophomore year. Scott was named to All Conference both her freshman and sophomore years while also making the All-State team as a sophomore in 2019. Scott was unable to compete as a junior after the season was cancelled due to COVID-19.

Scott is currently ranked first in her class with a 4.0 GPA and is an acting member of the National Honor Society and has earned an Outstanding Academic Achievement Award. She hopes to become a NICU nurse and work with children after college.

"Taylar will be a great addition to our women's track and field program," said head track coach Seth Mischke. "Her strong academic background and competitiveness/passion for the sport of track and field will allow her to make an immediate impact on our team.  I am excited to watch her finish out her high school career and be a part of her new journey here at BHSU!"
