PUEBLO, Colo. – The Black Hills State University men's and women's track & field teams recorded ninth and sixth place finishes respectively this past weekend at the 2026 RMAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl. The Yellow Jacket women posted their best conference finish since 2022, tallying 40 points for sixth place on the heels of two First Team All-RMAC finishes by
Gretchen Adamski (pole vault) and
Cassidy Goddard (hammer throw), while
Emma Hofmeister (10,000m run),
Avery Marler (long jump),
Hanah Sullivan (discus and hammer throw), and
Alivia Weathers (javelin) each notched Second Team All-RMAC honors. On the men's side, First Team All-RMAC accolades by
Evan Smith (800m run) and
Flynn Johnston (400m hurdles), and a Second Team All-RMAC honor for
Bridger Anderson (long jump), led to a ninth place team finish with 22 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED – MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
- Turner Christians kicked-off the RMAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships for the Yellow Jackets on the men's side with an 18th place finish and time of 32:28.64 in the 10,000m run.
- In the 3,000m steeplechase, the Yellow Jackets saw the pair of Landrum Wiley and Thomas Oylear run to times of 9:38.44 and 9:46.35 respectively for 13th and 18th place finishes.
- Earning Second Team All-RMAC recognition in the long jump was Bridger Anderson, who posted a career-best mark of 7.22m (23' 8.25") for fifth place, while Javin Walker was 20th place in the event with a jump of 6.40m (21' 0"). Anderson's mark in the event ranks third all-time in school history.
- Ryan Baker started his conference championships with a mark of 42.91m (140' 9") in the discus throw, finishing 16th place in the event.
- Evan Smith ran to a top time and NCAA Provisional mark of 1:50.85 in the prelims of the 800m run on Saturday afternoon, while Caden Strasser added a career-best time of 1:54.45 for 13th place. Later on Sunday afternoon in the finals of the event, Smith would ultimately finish second place, earning First Team All-RMAC honors with another NCAA Provisional time of 1:48.96.
- The duo of Trennan Pearson and Adam Stimes recorded top-10 finishes in the high jump, clearing heights of 1.95m (6' 4.75") and 1.90m (6' 2.75") for seventh and ninth place respectively.
- In the 400m hurdles, Flynn Johnston ran to a time of 53.94 for fourth place in the prelims on day two and ultimately moved up one spot to third place for First Team All-RMAC accolades on Sunday with an NCAA Provisional time of 52.61.
- The final day of field events got underway with the triple jump, as the pair of Casen Willson and Jude Guevara finished 13th and 16th place respectively, posting marks of 13.22m (43' 4.5") and 12.30m (40' 4.25").
- Baker added a top-10 finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 49.92m (163' 9") for ninth place, while Barren Yellow Bird added a career-best mark of 46.31m (151' 11") for 16th place.
- Sunday's track action began with the 4x100 relay as the team of Ashley Williams, Bridger Anderson, Jude Guevara, and Dawson Lindeen, ran to a time of 43.31 for ninth place.
- The final field event of the conference championships saw Willson add a seventh place finish in the javelin throw with a career-best mark of 54.89m (180' 1"), which additionally ranks fourth all-time in school history. Also competing, Torin Knight notched a career-best mark of 49.23m (161' 6") for 12th place.
- The track action at the conference championships came to a close with the 4x400 relay as the team of Johnston, Wiley, Strasser, and Smith, clocked a time of 3:20.91 for ninth place in the event.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED – WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
- The RMAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships started with Alivia Weathers competing in the heptathlon for the Yellow Jackets, as she tallied a career-best 4,291 points across Friday and Saturday competition. The point total ranks fifth all-time in school history. During the weekend she notched three career-bests, with times of 27.60 for 12th in the 200m dash, 2:44.00 for 12th in the 800m run, and 15.55 for eighth in the 100m hurdles. Additionally, she won the javelin throw with a mark of 39.34m (129' 1"), while also adding a fourth place finish in the shot put with a throw of 10.88m (35' 8.5"), an eighth place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.46m (4' 9.5"), and an 11th place finish in the long jump with a mark of 4.82m (15' 9.75").
- Day two track action started with a top-10 program time and career-best in the 10,000m run by Emma Hostmeister as she earned Second Team All-RMAC honors with a fifth place finish and time of 37:40.25. Also competing in the event was Abigail Robberson who finished 11th with a time of 38:30.23.
- In the prelims of the 100m hurdles, Madyson Wolfe ran to a 13th place finish with a time of 15.99.
- Gracie Wilts posted a 22nd place finish in the 400m dash prelims, running to a time of 1:01.64.
- The field event action began with a 12th place finish in the shot put by Hanah Sullivan as she recorded a throw of 11.79m (38' 8.25").
- In the 100m dash, Avery Marler clocked a career-best time of 12.28 to move into fifth all-time in program history in the event, finishing 16th in the prelims on Saturday afternoon.
- Wolfe notched a top-10 finish in the prelims of the 400m hurdles, clocking a tenth place time of 1:06.50. Additionally, Weathers added an 18th place finish with a time of 1:10.65.
- Later in the day, the pair of Marler and Saraya Afrank recorded finishes of 17th and 22nd place in the 200m dash prelims, posting times of 25.98 and 26.49 respectively.
- In the long jump, Marler notched a Second Team All-RMAC finish with a career-best mark of 5.73m (18' 9.75") for fifth place. The mark also is tied for third all-time in BHSU history. Also competing in the event, Afrank recorded a jump of 4.93m (16' 2.25") for 22nd place.
- Â The Saturday track action came to a close with the 1,500m run as Abigail Hardersen crossed the line 19th in the prelims with a time of 5:00.08.
- Saturday's field events were capped by a Second Team All-RMAC performance by Sullivan in the discus as she posted a mark of 42.26m (138' 8") for sixth place. Cassidy Goddard also competed in the event and recorded an 11th place finish with a throw of 40.38m (132' 6").
- The final day of field events got underway with the javelin throw as Weathers earned Second Team All-RMAC honors with a career-best throw of 41.40m (135' 10") for fourth place. Her mark in the event also ranked second all-time in Black Hills State program history. Additionally, Goddard competed in the event and recorded a mark of 26.64m (87' 5") for 24th place.
- Sunday's track action began with the 4x100 relay as the team of Afrank, Marler, Wilts, and Wolfe, ran to a sixth place time of 49.13.
- In the pole vault, Gretchan Adamski claimed First Team All-RMAC honors as she finished second place by clearing an NCAA Provisional mark of 3.82m (12' 6.25"). Adding top-10 finishes was Lauryn Bennett and Brekkan Lockhart, who finished seventh with a mark of 3.57m (11' 8.5") and tenth with a mark of 3.42m (11' 2.5") respectively. Lockhart cleared the mark on her second attempt, while Erin Weibel, who also cleared the mark of 3.42m (11' 2.5"), was 11th after clearing the height on her third attempt. Rounding out the group, Hope Bryant finished 17th by clearing a height of 3.27m (10' 8.75").
- The lone Yellow Jacket competing in the triple jump was Adlyn Eng, who posted a 21st place finish with a mark of 10.38m (34' 0.75").
- In the final field event of the meet, the Green & Gold collected a pair of all-conference performances in the hammer throw as Cassidy Goddard earned First Team All-RMAC with a third place finish and NCAA Provisional mark of 53.05m (174' 0"), while Sullivan earned Second Team All-RMAC with a sixth place finish and throw of 47.85m (157' 0").
- In the 5,000m run on Sunday, Ava Allen concluded her freshman campaign with a 13th place finish and time of 18:24.84.
- The final track event of the weekend saw the 4x400 relay of Afrank, Wilts, Wolfe, and Marler notch a seventh place finish with a time of 3:57.69.
