Black Hills State cross country is headed to Golden, Colo. to compete in the RMAC Conference Championships Saturday October 23rd.
 
The RMAC Championships will take place in Golden, Colo. at Applewood Golf Course with the women competing first in a 6K at 10:40 a.m. and the men to follow with an 8K beginning at 11:30 a.m.

"I am excited to see how this team competes against all the RMAC teams in competition this weekend," said head coach Brian Medigovich. "We have only had the opportunity to compete against two RMAC teams this season so it will be exciting to see how things shake out."
 
Competing for the Yellow Jackets on the men's side will be six athletes returning to the RMAC Championships including Noah Bordewyk, Tim Brown, Lincoln Fleischman, Keith Osowski, Matt Parker, and Addison Red Fox while the team will also bring three student-athletes making their RMAC Championships debut including Britton Elkin, Hayden Grosz, and Nolan Maher.

The women will have four returners including Sylvia Brown, Erica Dykstra, Ruby Lindquist, and Xiomara Robinson with three student-athletes making their debut including Aryn Meiner, Morgan Wald, and Katie Knutson.

This meet marks the start of the post season for the Yellow Jacket cross country teams after a successful regular season which saw the men place first twice as a team (Hardrocker XC Classic and Gage McSpadden), earn a sixth-place finish at the Roy Griak Invitational, and place third at the teams final meet of the season the Yellowjacket Open. On the women's side the team earned a second-place finish at the Hardrocker XC Classic, placed eighth at the Roy Griak Invitational, and third at the Yellowjacket Open.
 
The Yellow Jackets hard two runners earn runner of the week accolades with Ruby Lindquist and Keith Osowski earning runner of the week on September 29th.
 
This season both the men and women were picked to finish eighth in the RMAC Preseason Poll. After finishing last season with a ninth place finish by the men at the RMAC Championship and a seventh place finish by the women with Xiomara Robinson earning First Team All-Conference after a 14th-place finish.
