Black Hills State women's volleyball defeated Colorado Christian University in straight sets Friday night at the Donald E Young Center.

Madison Hoopman led the Yellow Jackets in kills recording 10 kills on the night.

Karly Marx led the team in assists recording 30.

Haedyn Rhoades was the dig leader for BHSU with 12 digs.

The Yellow Jackets had five athletes record aces
Katie Welniak was the ace leader with four while Rhoades and Kendra Cerrone each recorded two.
Brooke Franklin and
Peyton Bodemann also each had an ace on the night.

In set one the Yellow Jackets and Cougars would stay evenly matched through the first 14 points with the teams being knotted up at seven all before BHSU would take the lead. Once the Yellow Jackets held the lead, they would not let it go leading by as much as five points in route to a 25-19 set one victory.

Set two opened with the Yellow Jackets taking an early lead leading by as much as four points before the Cougars would pull even at nine all. The Yellow Jackets would then pull ahead again before the Cougars would be able to score three straight lock the score at 20 all. The Yellow Jackets would go on to outscore the Cougars 5-3 taking the set two victory 25-23.

In set three the Yellow Jackets would jump out to an early lead 5-1 over the Cougars before CCU would find their rhythm going on a seven-point run forcing a Yellow Jacket time out. Out of the time out the Yellow Jackets would put up five straight regaining the lead. The score would again be locked up at 15 all before the Yellow Jackets would outscore the Cougars 10-5 to take the 25-20 set three victory defeating the Cougars in straight sets.
