Box Score PUEBLO, Colo. - Black Hills State women's volleyball lost to Colorado State University Pueblo in straight sets Saturday night.
 
The Yellow Jackets lost set one (25-18), lost set two (25-10), and lost set three (25-16).
 
Sierra Ward, 
Jessica Crane, and 
Madison Hoopman were stout at the net leading the Yellow Jackets in kills recording six, five, and five kills each, respectively.
 
Karly Marx paced the teams with 17 assists.
 
Haedyn Rhoades was the leader in digs for BHSU with 10.
 
Two Yellow Jackets recorded aces in the contest with 
Kindra Cerrone and 
Katie Welniak each having one ace.
 
Set one started out close between the Thunderwolves and Yellow Jackets with neither team garnering much of an edge until BHSU knocked out four straight points to go up 14-9 over CSUP. From that point the Thunderwolves would come storming back outscoring the Yellow Jackets 7-2 to tie things up at 16 all. The Thunderwolves would continue that rally taking down the Yellow Jackets in set one 25-18.
 
The Thunderwolves would grab the early advantage in set two taking an 8-2 lead over the Yellow Jackets forcing a BHSU timeout. CSUP would not let off the gas for the rest of the set as they locked up a 25-10 set victory over BHSU.
 
In set three BHSU would fall behind early to the Thunderwolves 9-2 to open the set. The Yellow Jackets would fight back within six at 17-11 looking for a set three comeback; however, the Thunderwolves would outpace the Yellow Jackets 8-5 to win set three 25-16 and win the match in straight sets.

The Yellow Jackets close out the regular season next weekend in the Donald E. Young Center as they take on Colorado School of Mines and Chadron State College.
