The Black Hills State University track and Field teams had another successful weekend with most athletes competing in the Yellow Jacket Open and a handful of distance athletes competing at the SDSU Indoor Classic.

Among the standout performances were
Xiomara Robinson who competed at the SDSU Indoor Classic running a 4:56.50 mile and setting a new school record in the 3K run with a time of 9:53.01. Both times are national provisional times.
Ruby Lindquist ran a personal best mile time of 4:59.63 closing in on a national provisional time for herself.
Kyla Sawvell increased her national provisional mark in the weight throw to 18.80m (61' 8.25" ft.) For the men Matt Parker won the 5K at the SDSU Indoor Classic with a personal best time of 14:23.74. With this time Parker has earned a national provisional time and ranks 24
th in the nation currently.
Keith Osowski also competed at the SDSU Indoor Classic running a 4:15.15 mile.

Sprints
On the track the team had success in the sprints with both the men's and women's 4x400's placing first with the men's being run by
Seth Hills,
Shane McGraw,
Frank Becker, and
Larenzo Ebell and the women's being run by
Taylor Lundquist,
Samantha Bates,
Erica Dykstra, and
Mikayla Tracy.
Breanne Fuller recorded first place finishes in the 60M dash (7.94) and the 200M dash (25.82).
Sophie Curtis and
Mikayla Tracy each had second place finishes in the 60M dash (8.43) and 400M dash (1:00.09), respectively. While
Erica Dykstra came in third in the 400M dash with a time of 1:00.99.

Distance
For the distance athletes who competed at home
Marcos Valerio placed first in the mile while
Taylor Lundquist placed first in the women's 800m run with a time of 2:22.91. Tim Brown recorded a second-place finish in the men's 800 while
Angela Hovdenes placed second in the women's 3K run. Rounding out top finishers for the distance was a trio of third place finished coming from Addison Redfox,
Mayson Hudyma, and
Morgan Wald in the mens mile, women's 800M run, and the women's 3K, respectively.

Field
Hoyt Nicholas led the men in the field with two first place finishes. Nicholas threw 14.35m (47'1") in the shot put and 17.51M (57' 5.5") in the weight throw.
Reece Ullery recorded a first-place jump of 13.44m (44' 1.25") in the triple jump while also placing 2
nd in the long jump with a jump of 6.33M (20' 9.25"). Nana Kwame Dwamena placed third in both the long and triple jump with jumps of 6.25M (20' 6.25") and 12.82M (42' 0.75").
Drazen Moratzka jumped 1.88M (6'2") in the high jump earned a third-place finish. For the women
Samantha Bates recorded first place finished in both the long and triple jump jumping 5.19m (17' 0.5") and 10.81M (35' 5.75"), respectively.
JoJo Sherman and
Hannah Hendricks placed 2
nd and 3
rd in the pole vault each recording jumps of 3.57M (11' 8.5"). While
Kyla Sawvell earned another first place finish in the shot put throwing 13.75M (45' 1.5").
Maddi Fidler finished 2
nd in the weight throw with a throw of 16.47M (54'0.5").
