Black Hills State Track and Field sent a handful of athletes to compete at the CSC Open this weekend in Chadron, Nebraska.
This was a successful outing for the throwers and pole vaulters who attended the meet with every athlete but one who competed this weekend placing in the top five of their respective events.
Sophomore thrower
Kyla Sawvell continued her success earning first-place marks in both the women's shot put and weight throw with throws of 14.05m (46-01.25ft) and 18.43m (60-05.75ft), respectively. The other female throwers both competed in the weigh throw with
Maddi Fidler earning a second-place finish with a throw of 15.37m (50-05.25ft) and Savanna Perez placing twelfth with a throw of 12.28m (40-03.50ft).
For the men
Sully Mack was the only thrower competing for Black Hills State earning a fourth place finish in shot put with a throw of 13.18m (43-00.50ft) and a fifth place finish in weight throw with a throw of 14.90m (48-10.75ft).
In the pole vault
Hannah Hendrick cleared 3.52m (11-06.50ft) earning second place and
JoJo Sherman cleared 3.37m (11-00.75ft) tying for third.
