COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Black Hills State softball's
Crystal Amaral and
Bell Luebken were each named to the RMAC All-Conference Honorable Mention team Wednesday morning.
Amaral and Luebken were both standouts on the team this year. Amaral was the staple in the Yellow Jacket pitching staff, while Luebken led the team offensively as a true freshman.
Crystal Amaral – Jr., P
Amaral served as the team's ace and workhorse in the rotation this season. She finished second in the RMAC with 13 complete games, third with 114.2 innings pitched, and fourth in strikeouts with 85.
Bell Luebken – Fr., SS
Luebken came in her freshman season and led the team in batting while also leading the infield at the shortstop position. She played in all 38 games for the Yellow Jackets this season, and finished sixth in the RMAC in batting (.437), hits (55) and OBP (.493), and 11th in total bases (88).
She also slugged eight home runs and nine doubles on the year to drive in 20 runs. On top of that, she walked more times (14) than struck out (10). In the field, she recorded 93 assists at short, good for second-most in the RMAC.
