Black Hills State track and field wrapped up its end-of-season tune-ups this weekend, sending a handful of student-athletes to events in Vermillion, S.D. and Mankato, Minn.
Breanne Fuller,
Whitney Scott and
Kyla Sawvell each traveled to the South Dakota Tune-Up in Vermillion, while
Ruby Lindquist and
Xiomara Robinson were in Mankato at the Maverick Classic.
South Dakota Tune-Up
At the South Dakota Tune-Up, Fuller ran in both the 100m and 200m races. She tied her career-best mark of 24.87 in the 200m with a fifth-place finish, while also placing fifth in the 100m in 12.11.
Scott tied eighth in the pole vault with a jump of 3.65m (11' 11.75").
Sawvell competed in the shot put and discus throw. She placed second in the shot put with a throw of 14.37m (47' 1.75"), and 13th in discus with a 43.69m (143' 1.25") toss.
Maverick Classic
At the Maverick Classic, Lindquist and Robinson both ran in the 1500m. Lindquist broke the school record in the event, placing fifth in 4:34.29 as she topped the previous record of 4:34.66 which was set by teammate Robinson earlier this season. Robinson finished 13th on Saturday with a mark of 4:46.94.
