HAYS, Kansas - BHSU began day two of the Tiger Classic with a 3-1 victory over Cameron winning set one 25-21, losing set two 22-25, winning set three 25-19, and winning set four 25-16 before dropping their second match 1-3 to Fort Hays State losing set one 20-25, losing set two 16-25, winning set three 26-23, and losing set four 23-25.

In the first matchup of the day the Yellow Jackets had two student-athletes record double digit kills with
Kindra Cerrone recording 14 and
Madison Hoopman recording 19.

Karly Marx was the assist leader for the Yellow Jackets with 44.

While three Yellow Jackets recorded double digit digs including
Karly Marx (12),
Kindra Cerrone (13), and
Haedyn Rhoades (16).

Freshman
Kelsey Rosenstrauch and Marx led the team in aces with four apiece.

In set one BHSU started strong with an ace served up by Marx. Cameron then got on top taking a three-point lead over the Yellow Jackets before BHSU would come storming back. The Yellow Jackets tied the score at 12 apiece. The Yellow Jackets would then take their largest lead of the game going up four at 20-16. The Yellow Jackets would not let that lead go with the final score being 25-21.

Cameron would strike first in set two before BHSU would take an early lead going up by four-points 7-3 over Cameron. BHSU would hold that lead for much of the match before Cameron would go on two runs to tie the score at 17 all. Cameron would ride the momentum coming out of those streaks and win match two 25-22.

Behind strong serving by
Kindra Cerrone the Yellow Jackets would take a quick lead in set three going up 5-0 before Cameron got their first point on the board. The Yellow Jackets would not give up that lead throughout the set. The Auggies would get within one at 14-13, but ultimately the Yellow Jackets would pull out the set three victory 25-19.

In set four the Yellow Jackets would again strike first going on a 4-1 run over the Auggies. The Yellow Jackets would go up by as much as seven points before Cameron would score six straight knotting the score at ten all. BHSU would then control much of the match going on a 15-6 run to win the set 25-16 and match 3-1.

In their second match of the day the Yellow Jackets again had three student-athletes with double digit kills.
Mariah Robinson recorded 10,
Sierra Ward recorded 12, while
Madison Hoopman recorded 14.

The Yellow Jackets put up a quick three-points in set one against Fort Hays State before a five-point run by the Tigers would put them on top. The Tigers would hold on to that momentum putting together multiple runs throughout the set. The Yellow Jackets would tie things up at 17 all after a 6-1 run of their own. Ultimately the Tigers would come out on top 25-20 in set one.

Although BHSU would get on the board first in set two the Tigers would quickly go up 4-1 over the Yellow Jackets. The Tigers would hold onto that lead for the remainder of the set not letting BHSU take the lead throughout the set. The Tigers would come out on top in set two 25-15.

The Tigers would strike first in set three going up 2-0 over the Yellow Jackets before BHSU would take the lead. The score would be tied four times throughout the set at 4,5,6, and 11 before BHSU would take the lead and not let up. Though the Tigers would get within one at 23-24 the Yellow Jackets would take the win in set three 25-23.

Set four was close throughout the entire set with BHSU and FHSU staying within three of each other throughout the set. The score would be tied seven times including at 19 all and 22 all before FHSU would outscore BHSU 3-1 to win the set and the match.
