The Black Hills State men's and women's cross-country teams will open the 2021 season on the road, competing in the Hardrocker XC Classic Saturday Sept. 4 with the women running at 9:15 a.m. and the men at 10:05 a.m.
 
The Yellow Jackets are set to face off against Chadron State, Carleton College, Central Wyoming, and South Dakota Mines.
 
BHSU was able to compete in two meets last season in a COVID-plagued season.
 
The Yellow Jackets return 10 student athletes with four newcomers on the men's side while returning six and welcoming four new student-athletes on the women's team.
 
This will be head coach Brian Medigovich's first competition leading the Yellow Jackets.
