GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Black Hills State women's soccer fell to Colorado Mesa, 2-0 at Maverick Field Sunday afternoon.

Haley Hesselgesser each totaled one shot on the day while
Makayla Dannelly grabbed seven saves between the pipes for BHSU (2-3, 1-1 RMAC).
Colorado Mesa took an early 1-0 lead with a goal at the 1-minute mark. They would keep pressuring, putting up 10 more shots before extending their lead to 2-0 at 28:39.
As the Yellow Jackets continued to find their momentum on offense, Dannelly, with her four first-half saves, and the defense held CMU to two goals to trail 2-0 at halftime.
BHSU opened the second half with a shot from Avery two minutes out of the break. The two teams traded possessions until Goodman got off a shot at 71:14, missing wide left.
Hesselgesser put up a shot at the 80th minute, but missed wide left for the team's final shot before time expired.

The Yellow Jackets return home next weekend to take on Colorado Mines on Friday, Oct. 1 at 3 p.m., and Regis on Sunday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m.
