Yellow Jackets to Wrap Up Road Schedule

Black Hills State women's soccer hits the road for its final time this season, traveling to take on Fort Lewis Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. and then Western Colorado on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 11 a.m.

The Yellow Jackets are currently 1-10-2 overall and 1-8 in the RMAC, while FLC is 4-10-1 overall and 3-6 to sit ninth in the RMAC. WCU is 5-9-1 overall and 3-6 in the RMAC, currently eighth in the standings.

"Both teams are 3-6 in RMAC play but have lost their last four," said Head Coach Andrew Conniff. "They are both quality teams that are right on the edge of qualifying for an RMAC playoff spot, which is a position we had hoped to be in, and I feel it's very important we prove to ourselves that we can get results against teams with that ambition. I hope this weekend we are able to come out and be at our best."

BHSU has a very young team that is improving every game. The squad has had 25 student-athletes enter a game this season, 22 of which will have played in more games or more minutes than they did in all of last season.

"A challenge we have faced this year is our youth, which is something we may have overlooked entering the season," Conniff added. "It has been exciting to see so many players increase their role and on-field value with this program. That amount of change in our team has presented challenges and I feel the group has been unlucky to not get some more results and score more goals this season."
