BHSU Drops Sunday Match to UCCS

Black Hills State women's soccer fell to UC Colorado Springs, 5-0 Sunday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets (1-7-2) totaled three shots and one on goal in the game, led by Lexi Crow with two shots, including the shot on goal, and Sheridan Fenner with her first goal of the season.

Makayla Dannelly tallied six saves on 20 shots faced.

The Yellow Jackets played tough in the opening half, going toe-to-toe with the Mountain Lions as both teams remained scoreless over the first 38 minutes of play.

Crow got a good look early in the game with a shot on goal towards the lower right corner in the third minute of the game, but the UCCS keeper was able to grab it. Crow put up another shot in the 20th minute, but UCCS was able to gain momentum from there.

The Mountain Lions led 2-0 at halftime, but added on to make it 5-0 with a goal in the 47th minute, and two more in the 61st minute.

Teams traded possessions the rest of the way, as BHSU would get one more good look with a Fenner shot in the 79th minute, but eventually fell 5-0.
