Black Hills State volleyball hosts their final two home games of the 2022 season this Friday and Saturday night.

The Yellow Jackets host the UCCS Mountain Lions for Senior Night on Friday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m., then turn around to face the CSU Pueblo Thunderwolves on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 5:30 p.m., which will be the second time these two teams have faced off in 2022. Â

BHSU returns to the Donald E. Young Center from two tough road losses over the past weekend. In a thrilling game against Adams State on Friday night, the Yellow Jackets took the Grizzlies to a fifth set before falling 15-10. The Yellow Jackets then went south to Las Vegas, New Mexico for a matchup against New Mexico Highlands, where, after a hot start, they fizzled out and fell to the Cowgirls in four.

Black Hills State (4-18, 3-11 RMAC) vs. UCCS (10-12, 5-9 RMAC)
The Mountain Lions come to town off a win-loss weekend at home that featured matchups against Chadron State and No. 22 Colorado Mines. In their contest against the Eagles last Friday, UCCS secured a clean sweep victory over Chadron State (25-23, 25-17, 25-21), recording a .269 clip on 55 total kills.
Senior Middle Blocker Julia Geiger recorded season highs in kills (15) and points (15.5) against the Eagles. However, the Mountain Lions got swept the following day to the No. 22 Orediggers (16-25, 19-25, 15-25), who notched nine service aces and eight total blocks against UCCS.
Following the matchup against BHSU, the Mountain Lions will head to Rapid City to battle South Dakota Mines before wrapping their season up at home.

The last time BHSU and UCCS met was Nov. 5, 2021 and saw the Mountain Lions sweep the Yellow Jackets after three tightly contested sets.

Like the Mountain Lions, CSU Pueblo is heading to Spearfis on a win-loss weekend, losing to Colorado Mines 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 16-25, 26-28) on Friday, then sweeping Chadron State on Saturday night, with both games at the Massari Arena in Pueblo. The Thunderwolves went to extra serves in the fourth set against Colorado Mines, where at one point, CSU Pueblo held a 9-2 lead over the Orediggers until multiple scoring series' tied the set at 23-all. After a tough fight, Colorado Mines made it out on top.

The Thunderwolves, who received nine votes in the AVCA DII Coaches Poll this week, head to South Dakota Mines Friday night before making their visit to the Donald E. Young Center on Saturday. The last time the Yellow Jackets and the Thunderwolves met was earlier this season on Sept. 10, where the hosting CSU Pueblo beat BHSU in three sets.
