BILLINGS, Mont. – Black Hills State men's and women's cross country returns to the course this Friday at the Yellowjacket Open.
The last cross country event for the Yellow Jackets took place nearly two weeks ago on Friday, Sept. 16, which saw both Yellow Jacket teams secure first place at the Chadron State Open in Chadron, Neb.
Through the first two meets on their season, the Yellow Jackets have found success with many athletes recording personal best times and securing top placements in these races.
Xiomara Robinson has been dominant in the field as she has won both of her 5k races by 60 seconds or more, which included a personal best 5k run by the junior at the Gage McSpadden Memorial.
Sylvia Brown followed suit, finishing in second place in both events right behind Robinson, which included a personal best time that she recorded at the Gage McSpadden Memorial.
Tim Brown and
Matt Parker have paved the way for the Yellow Jackets men's squad. Brown and Parker hit personal best marks at the Gage McSpadden Memorial men's 6k, with both men securing top three finishes at both meets this season as well. They're both looking to continue leading men's cross country to top finishes as they prepare for the Yellowjacket Open.
The Yellowjacket Open is slated for Friday, Oct. 7 at Amend Park in Billings, Mont. The men will kick off the event with a 6k race at 12:30 p.m., while the women's 5k is slated for 1:30 p.m.
