BILLINGS, Mont. – BHSU cross country hit their stride once again on Friday afternoon as both the men's and women's squads secured first-place team finishes.
The Yellow Jacket men's group finished their 8k race with a total time of 2:06:26 (26 points), while the women clocked out of their 5k at 1:34:13 (49 points).
The men's squad consisted of six total BHSU runners who placed in the top ten. Sophomore
Tim Brown (24:45.9) led the way for the Yellow Jacket men in a second-place finish that was only 1.7 seconds behind the first-place finisher.
Matt Parker (25:04.3) was the next Yellow Jacket to cross the finish line for third, while
Lincoln Fleischman (25:23.6),
Britton Elkin (25:34.7),
Hayden Grosz (25:38.4), and
Keith Osowski (25:40.6) took places six through ninth, in order.
Mason Swingholm (25:49.4) claimed 12
th while freshman
Justyn France (25:59.0) completed the race in 15
th.
David Standish (26:07.5) and
Marcos Valerio (26:24.6) took 17
th and 18
th, respectively, while
Levi Smith (26:36.3) took 21
st.
Reese Charest (26:50.8) rounded out the Yellow Jacket men with a 24
th place time.
Xiomara Robinson (17:25.0) led the ladies with a fourth-place finish, topping her personal best 5k time that she set at the Gage McSpadden Memorial race
(18:24.5) at the beginning of the season.
Sylvia Brown (18:07.8) also beat her personal best mark in her sixth-place performance this afternoon. Freshmen
Evie Boyd (19:29.4),
Katie Turpin (19:35.3), and
Elizabeth Farris (19:36.3) all recorded personal best times and finished 14
th, 15
th, and 16
th, respectively.
Katie Knutson (20:09.8) finished in 25
th to wrap up the Yellow Jacket's lineup for the women's 5k run.
