Black Hills State men's basketball and Head Coach
Ryan Thompson have announced the signing of Jackson Edman for the 2023 season.
Edman is currently playing in his senior season at T.F. Riggs High School in Pierre while also sitting atop his class with a 4.0 GPA.
"I am thrilled to announce the addition of Jackson Edman," said Thompson. "Jackson competed at a high level in three sports throughout his high school career while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. He is extremely versatile on the basketball court with his ability to play inside and outside. Jackson's combination of strength, athleticism, toughness and skill at his size is very rare to find and should excite Yellow Jacket fans about the future of our program."

Currently in his senior high school season, Edman is coming off a junior campaign in which he averaged 12 points, eight rebounds and two assists per game. Before that he averaged 10 points and eight rebounds per game as a sophomore.
Last year he was named First Team All-ESD while also being named Honor Roll along with being a member of the National honor Society. In addition to his high school team, Edman has also played with Sacred Hoops.
