Black Hills State Women's Basketball and Head Coach
Mark Nore are pleased to announce the additions of Maggie Dooley and Ellie Moore to the team for the 2022-23 season.
Maggie Dooley
Dooley is a 6' 4" forward joining the Yellow Jackets out of Broomfield, Colo. where she played at Holy Family High School.
"Maggie is another wonderful young lady with great character and is a great fit for our program," said Coach Nore. "On offense she has a very nice face up game and ability to score with her back to the basket. On defense, she brings great size and length with the ability to change shots and get big rebounds. We are very excited about Maggie's decision to play for Black Hills State University. She is everything we look for in a person and is hungry to put in the work and develop her skills. We want to welcome her to our Yellow Jacket family."
Dooley began her high school career her sophomore year. Throughout her sophomore year Dooley averaged 1.7 points per game, 2.4 rebounds per game, 0.2 assists per game, 0.2 blocks per game, and 0.1 steals pergame.
In her junior year Dooley tallied 4.2 points per game, 3.9 rebounds per game, 1.3 blocks per game, 0.3 steals per game, and 0.1 assists per game.
As a senior Dooley scored 6.1 points per game, tallied 5.5 rebounds per game, 2.0 blocks per game, 0.9 assists per game, and 0.7 steals per game. Maggie was named team captain for her senior season.
In the 2018-19 and the 2020-21 seasons Dooley helped her team to a final four appearance at the state tournament. In the 2019-20 season she helped lead her team to a co-championship at the state tournament. In her senior season Dooley helped lead her team to an elite eight appearance at the state tournament.
Throughout her high school career Dooley was named First Team All-League and Academic All State First Team, all four years. Dooley broke the school record for the most blocks at Holy Family High School, and is ranked in the top ten for total rebounds.
Dooley carries a 3.8 GPA and plans to major in Exercise Science at BHSU with hopes of becoming a physical therapist or an athletic trainer for a college team.
Ellie Moore
Moore is a 6' 0" forward joining the Yellow Jackets as a transfer from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Ellie is originally from Phoenix, Ariz.
"We are extremely excited about Ellie and her decision to play at BHSU," said Head Coach
Mark Nore. "She has great experience from a well-respected program in our league. Ellie is a multi-faceted player that can play multiple positions both offensively and defensively. On offense she plays an aggressive style along with a willingness to pass and play unselfishly. She can face up on the block or be a threat from beyond the arc. Defensively, she defends multiple positions, plays with a lot of toughness and grit, and is consistent with her boxouts. We are extremely excited about Ellie's decision to be a Yellow Jacket. She is a wonderful and mature person and player that brings so many great things to our program. She checks so many boxes, and we want to welcome her to our program."
In her freshman year at UCCS Moore averaged 19.9 minutes per game and tallied 6.8 points per game, 3.8 rebounds per game, 1.2 assists per game, and 1.1 blocks per game.
As a sophomore Moore played 18 minutes per game and racked up 4.1 points per game, 2.8 rebounds per game, 1.1 assists per game, and 1 block per game.
Throughout her junior year Moore averaged 17 minutes per game, 6.7 points per game, 3.2 rebounds per game, 1.2 assists per game, and 0.83 blocks per game.
In high school Moore averaged 11.2 points per game, 6.3 rebounds per game, 2.4 assists per game, 2.0 steals per game, and 1.1 blocks per game. Moore was named a captain her junior and senior years and was named First Team All-District twice, First team All-Academic twice, and Second Team All-Region twice.
Moore carries a 4.7 GPA and plans to major in Integrative Genomics with hopes of becoming a fertility doctor.
