Black Hills State women's soccer dropped its match to Colorado Mesa, 6-0 Sunday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets (1-3-2) totaled four shots on the day, including one on goal.
Emma Avery totaled two shots including one on goal, while
Darby Whiteley and
Sophie Brassard also tallied shots.
Defensively, keepers
Makayla Dannelly and
Morgan Wood combined for seven saves.
After Whiteley put up an early shot in the opening minutes, the Mavericks got on the board minutes later with a quick goal, going up 1-0.
The Yellow Jackets put some pressure on the CMU defense after that as Avery got shots off in the 15th and 17th minute, but neither would find the back of the net.
BHSU surrendered one more goal before the break, and the game went into halftime 2-0 in favor of CMU.
Out of the locker room, it was all Mavericks who were able to add four goals in the final 45 minutes, and take the match 6-0.

The Yellow Jackets hit the road next weekend as they're slated to travel to Colorado Mines on Friday, Sept. 23 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff, and then take on Regis on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 11 a.m.
