No. 17 Colorado Mines Too Much for Yellow Jackets

GOLDEN, Colo. – Black Hills State women's soccer fell to No. 17 Colorado Mines, 3-0 Friday night.

The Yellow Jackets (1-4-2) put up two shots, including a shot on goal by Darby Whiteley while Morgan Wood tallied eight saves in the box.

It was all CSM as the were able to apply early pressure, which eventually led to an early goal in the eighth minute to make it a 1-0 match.

Another goal before the half gave CSM a 2-0 lead while outshooting the Yellow Jackets 13-0 in the opening 45 minutes of play.

Out of the locker room, the Yellow Jackets were able to gain momentum until Darby Whiteley got off a shot on goal in 55th minute, but that would be the team's best look of the night.

Wood had some great saves between the pipes, including one in the 77th minute where she leapt up to her right, deflecting the ball straight up before catching it to secure her eighth save of the game.

Kayla Osegueda would put up the team's final shot of the game in the 87th minute, but BHSU would go on to fall 3-0.
